Steve Hilton Urges Mayor Lurie to Preemptively Reject Mahmood’s “Reckless, Dangerous” Law Enforcement Scheme
SACRAMENTO, CA – Steve Hilton today condemned Supervisor Bilal Mahmood’s announced plan to ban federal law enforcement from using San Francisco city property, calling it “reckless, dangerous, and a direct threat to public safety.”
“With Super Bowl 60, the FIFA World Cup, and March Madness coming to the Bay Area, millions of visitors will pour into a region already struggling with some of the highest levels of human trafficking, international crime, and drug trafficking in the nation,” Hilton said. “At a moment when the city should be strengthening cooperation with federal officers, this floated proposal would block lawful operations against violent criminals, traffickers, and international drug networks. It is partisan politics ahead of public safety.”

“I’m asking you to make clear today that this dangerous, pro-criminal proposal is a non-starter and that you would veto it,” Hilton wrote. “Let’s send a clear message to the nation and to the world that San Francisco and California are no longer in the grip of ideological, pro-crime, open borders insanity and that we are all working together to protect our communities and the millions who will visit us next year.”
