STEVE HILTON MAIN BENEFICIARY OF “KATIE PORTER MELTDOWN”
New Emerson Poll Shows Hilton Leading the Governor’s Race
SACRAMENTO, CA — A new statewide poll released by Emerson College shows Steve Hilton leading the race for California governor, confirming his consistent position in the top two, and identifying him as the main beneficiary of what analysts are calling the “Katie Porter Meltdown.”
The survey of 900 likely voters, conducted from October 20-21, finds Hilton at 16%, ahead in the overall race for governor and leading his main GOP challenger by 5%.
Hilton’s positive, pragmatic message of practical help for working families and small business: $3.00 gas, lower electric bills, a home you can afford, and safer streets is obviously resonating across the state.
“I’ve been working hard and traveling to every part of California,” Hilton said. “I love this state so much and it breaks my heart to see the pain and struggle for regular working people after 15 years of one party rule. Everyone can see we need change, and some political balance in California.”
The new poll highlights a growing sense among voters that the state needs new leadership and a new direction. With strong grassroots enthusiasm, rising poll numbers, and expanding media attention, Hilton continues to lead the field as the candidate offering a clear alternative to California’s entrenched political class.
