SACRAMENTO, CA—Today, the Steve Hilton for Governor campaign announced that it has raised over $1 million from more than 1,100 individual contributors in the 10 days since Steve launched his campaign. The tremendous enthusiasm and broad-based support for Hilton’s campaign are evident as he travels across the state.
“Californians know that it doesn’t have to be like this: that we can do so much better than the terrible failures of 15 years of Democrat one-party rule that have hurt working families and destroyed the California Dream. Just this week, as Gavin Newsom runs around bragging about California being the world’s fourth largest economy, a new survey showed that 35% of Californians cannot afford to meet their basic needs – rent, food, medical care and so on, said Hilton. “I am so honored that people from all over our beautiful state have responded so positively to my message: that we can make California truly Golden Again with common sense, positive, practical policies to help give every Californian the simple, basic aspirations: a good job, where you make enough to raise your family in a home of your own in a safe neighborhood with a good school so your kids have a better life than you.”
Hilton officially launched his campaign on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in front of a crowd of over 2,000 in Huntington Beach. He outlined a vision to restore the California Dream and break the cruel and destructive grip of what he has described as the “Democrat Industrial Complex” – Sacramento politicians, union bosses, activists and bureaucrats – all driven by ideological dogma instead of common sense.
Hilton continued, “Our campaign is just getting started. We’re building a powerful grass roots movement for change. People ask me: ‘how can a Republican win in 2026?’ My answer: in 2026, the change candidate is going to win – and with the help of our growing army of supporters, that’s going to be me.”
